The Arctic in April lost 444,000 square miles of ice, slightly higher than the average for the month, according to the National Snow & Ice Data Center. This demonstrates the changing landscape in the Arctic region and the need for research into how communities can adapt. Building on discussion from the first Arctic forum, a different group of scientific program directors discuss their plans for investing in Arctic change research.
