AGU Science Policy Conference 2014: Informing Policy Solutions

will include discussions of the science, policy, and communication of the following tracks:

  • Natural Hazards
  • Climate Change
  • Natural Resource Challenges

Sessions on a specific sub-topic of each track will run on Tuesday and Wednesday during the conference. Each topic will start with a discussion of the science of the subject – what we know and new and emerging information. The discussion will then continue with a session on the policy implications of the subject – what legislation or directives are currently enforced or being considered and implications of emerging science. Then we will end with a discussion of engagement around that subject – how to communicate the complex issues of the science and opportunities for policy engagement at local and national levels.

Monday, the first day of the conference, includes a hands-on science policy communications workshop for scientists.
