Climate Change Energy Outlook: Near and Far Solutions

The energy choices we make today—from how we fuel our cars to how we heat our homes and businesses—will have a major effect on how much our climate continues to change. At the same time, as global temperatures rise, extreme weather, drought, and demand for heating and cooling are putting pressure on our energy infrastructure and leading to power outages. With energy use a major component of our economy and an increasing portion of the U.S. gross domestic product, these choices also have profound financial implications. This panel explores different aspects of the energy alternatives to which we are turning as the climate changes.
