Bio

Ron was one of the founders of NavCom Technology (acquired by John Deere in 1999) where he is a Senior Research Engineer. He has previously worked at Magnavox, Boeing, and Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, as well as a few years as a consultant. His work emphasis is on high-accuracy applications of GNSS. He has authored or co-authored over forty papers on navigation topics.  He has obtained over two dozen patents as the inventor or co-inventor. Ron received a B.S. in Math & Physics in 1962 from Seattle Pacific College. He has served the Institute of Navigation as President and as Chair of the Satellite Division.  He was the 1994 recipient of the Satellite Division Kepler Award for “sustained and significant contributions to satellite navigation.”  He also received the Thurlow award from the Institute of Navigation in 2000 and was elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Navigation in 2000. He has recently become a member of the National Space-Based PNT Committee Advisory board.
