Featherstone Farms

Jack Hedin is the owner and operator of Featherstone Farm in southeastern Minnesota, which produces 160 acres of fresh market, certified organic fruits and vegetables for distribution throughout the Midwest.  Hedin received an undergraduate degree from Yale University in 1989 before becoming interested in sustainable agriculture and returning to his family’s roots in the rural Midwest with his wife in 1994. Featherstone Farm’s experience with climate change has been a major topic of Hedin’s writing and work since a “1000 year rain” event nearly put the farm out of business in 2007.
