Gary Pierzynski currently serves as President of the Soil Science Society of America (SSSA).  Previous service to the SSSA includes membership on the board of directors, chair of the budget and finance committee, and editor for the Journal of Environmental Quality. He is a Professor of Soil and Environmental Chemistry at Kansas State University and is currently holding the position of Interim Dean for the College of Agriculture and Interim Director for K-State Research and Extension.  His professional accomplishments include being named Fellow in the SSSA and in the American Society of Agronomy, and receipt of the Soil Science Education Award and the Marion and Chrystie Jackson Soil Science Award from the SSSA.
