Hone your ability to communicate effectively with policy makers, the press, and the general public at this complementary interactive communications workshop. A kickoff panel will discuss why it’s important for scientists to work with policy-makers, how to craft simple and compelling messages for general audiences, and what you can/cannot say to legislators if you’re in a government job. Participants will also gather in smaller groups to develop messages about their science and to practice delivering those messages in mock meetings with legislators and reporters.
