Erica Bickford is a 2012-2013 American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Congressional Science Fellow sponsored by the American Geophysical Union. She is serving her fellowship year in the personal office of U.S. Senator Bernard Sanders (I-VT), working on energy and environmental policy associated with the Senator’s roles on the Senate Committees on Environment and Public Works, and Energy and Natural Resources. Following her Congressional Fellowship, Bickford will continue working in the science policy arena as a AAAS Executive Branch Science and Technology Policy Fellow. Born and raised in Kittery Point, Maine, Bickford holds a B.S. in Ecology and Environmental Science from the University of Maine, an M.S. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Ph.D. in Environment and Resources, also from UW-Madison.
