Karen Akerlof is a research assistant professor at George Mason University’s Center for Climate Change Communication and is project director for a public-private partnership of organizations collaborating in generating and implementing research data to further public engagement on climate change in Maryland. Her research spans topics such as deliberative processes in local communities considering sea-level rise impacts, how individuals personally experience climate change, and depictions of climate modeling in the media.
